Woman arrested in Osage County missing person case bound over for arraignment

PAWHUSKA, Okla. - A Bartlesville woman arrested in October and thought to be connected to the disappearance of a 62-year-old man in August has been bound over for formal arraignment.

Kathleen Roland, 36, charged with conjoint robbery, waived her right to a preliminary hearing during her appearance in Osage County District Court on Tuesday. Also during the appearance, at the request of her attorney the judge lowered her bond to $1,000.

Roland's arrest late in October at the Georgian Arms apartments near downtown Bartlesville was the third made following the disappearance of Timothy Hauser.

Authorities arrested Bartlesville residents Trysta Shaffer, 28, and Rusty Petty, 40, on charges of conjoint robbery, nearly a week after they were seen with the missing Hauser on Aug. 9, who was leaving Osage Casino just west of Bartlesville. This was the last time he was seen.

Officials believe the suspects had advance knowledge that Hauser was going to leave the casino with an amount of money, and found him, beat him, took the money and left him for dead.

According to what Roland told police as reported in her arrest affidavit, Shaffer and Petty came to her home on Aug. 9 when Hauser disappeared, the two saying a man had attacked them and Petty had hit him with a tire iron.

Roland reportedly told investigators she gave Petty another pair of pants to replace his bloody pair and additionally saw “a wad of cash.”

Shaffer, she said, later gave her $20 and an additional $320 to hold.

Roland is due back in court on Feb. 15 next year.
