BARTLESVILLE - A suspended Bartlesville police officer charged with assault and battery has been found not guilty.
Stacy Neafus, 42, was on trial over allegations of assault against a Jane Phillips Medical Center patient in 2011.
The prosecution said Neafus reportedly pushed the alleged victim's upper torso over a metal chair arm “with the weight of the defendant pressing” the man “who was handcuffed behind his back at the time of the defendant's actions, with force and violence."
Another officer, 45-year-old Sonya Worthington, was found guilty of using excessive force in the same alleged incident. The court directed Worthington to pay a $1,000 fine but required no jail time.
