Polls open Tuesday for general Bartlesville city elections

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Polls are set to open Tuesday in Washington County for the general election and the regular municipal election for the City of Bartlesville.

The polling booths set to open at 7 a.m. will remain open until 7 p.m., according to Washington County Election Board Secretary Yvonne House.

She suggests voters who want to be processed quickly to vote in the mid-morning or mid-afternoon, as these times are commonly the slowest periods for voting during the day.

On the ballots, Bartlesville voters will see two races for seats on the Bartlesville city council, though only one contested seat exists.

One candidate withdrew his candidacy for the Ward 3 seat after the ballots had been printed, leaving his contender incumbent and Mayor Tom Gorman in the seat.

The only actual race council race on the ballot is that between former councilor Eddie Mason and Allen Bretz who both filed for the Ward 4 seat.

Incumbent council member Ted D. Lockin filed for the Ward 1 seat, incumbent Mike McGrew for the Ward 2 seat and incumbent Dale Copeland for the Ward 5 seat – all uncontested.
