BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Some Bartlesville band students are getting more out of a trip abroad than they bargained for.
Currently more than 200 teens and their chaperones are back home in Green Country, but 30 students and staff are still in Ireland, where the school's choir, orchestra and band performed several concerts.
The band even took part in the St. Patrick's Festival Parade, with an expected one million people watching on television.
But their flight home was canceled.
One parent of a stranded student says it was because of an ongoing worker strike involving employees of Lufthansa Airlines, a German company.
Meanwhile, travel agents have been working to get the students on a plane as soon as possible.
The parent says they should be home Tuesday.
