BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Though Christmas is yet nearly nine weeks away, preparations are now under way for Bartlesville's traditional Christmas parade.
The Bartlesville Downtown Kiwanis Club, planning for this year's parade, recently announced registration forms for parade float entries are now available online on the civic organization's website .
This year's parade will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 15 in downtown Bartlesville. Those submitting forms must pay their entry fee at the time of their registration. The fee is $25 for a business and $10 for a non-profit.
Officials are asking participants to begin thinking of creative ways to use their floats to share the Christmas spirit as prizes will be awarded in several categories. They request entrants to refrain from having a Santa as Santa Claus will appear at the end of the parade. Floats are allowed to distribute candy, but for safety reasons it must not be thrown from the float.
