BARTLESVILLE, Okla. -

Bartlesville residents who were wanting to cool off this weekend in the city's public pools may need to chill elsewhere.

Bartlesville city officials on Friday announced both Sooner and Frontier Pools will be closed for the weekend. The Sooner Park Splashpad, however, will remain open.

According to city parks and recreation officials, the closure is due to Red Cross life-guard training to be conducted at the sites. All of the city's life-guards will undergo training during this time.

Officials told 2NEWS this is the first time they are aware the city has hosted Red Cross training of its life-guards at these sites.

The pools will reopen to the public at noon Monday.
