BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - “To the Wonder” starring Ben Affleck and Rachel McAdams and filmed in Bartlesville two years ago now has a distributor.
According to the Oklahoma Film and Music Office, announced on Friday was that the Terrence Malick-directed movie secured U.S. distribution with Magnolia Pictures.
In the film set to be released in 2013, Affleck plays Neil, a man who reconnects with a childhood sweetheart from his hometown after his marriage with a European woman he met in France falls apart.
“To the Wonder” made its world premiere at the 2012 Venice Film Festival and last month made its North American premiere at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival.
Movie crews are again in the Bartlesville and Pawhuska area, this time for the filming of “August: Osage County” – a movie co-produced by George Clooney and starring Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep.
The John Wells-directed movie is based on an award-winning play written by Oklahoma's own Tracy Letts about the dysfunctional Weston family which comes together when their alcoholic patriarch goes missing.
