The location for Saturday's open call for extras for the feature film "August: Osage County," starring Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts, has changed, according to Freihofer Casting.
The open call will now be held at the Tulsa Promenade Mall, located at 4107 S. Yale Ave.
The original location was the Doubletree Warren Place, but the casting call was moved to accommodate more parking and accessibility.
"We want to ensure a fun, positive, comfortable experience for everyone involved, and our friends at the Promenade Mall were happy to accommodate us," said Chris Freihofer, Oklahoma casting director.
The film is scheduled to begin shooting in Oklahoma in late September.
TULSA -- The makers of a movie starring Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts announced last week to begin shooting this September in and around Osage County will be in Tulsa this weekend seeking extras.
On Saturday, Freihofer Casting will be holding an open call for people to fill non-speaking rolls in the upcoming feature film "August: Osage County."
Based on a Pulitzer Prize-winning play written by Oklahoma's own Tracy Letts and directed by John Wells, the movie is about the Weston family which comes together when their alcoholic patriarch goes missing.
The casting call, to be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, will be hosted in the Parkview East ballroom at the DoubleTree Warren Place Hotel, located at 6110 S. Yale in Tulsa.
Officials say they will ask those in attendance to provide contact information and clothing sizes, and also an opportunity to take their pictures in a process that should take less than 10 minutes.
Those unable to attend will be able to submit by mail or email, but must include a recent, clear photo, their name, mailing address, email address, all phone numbers, height, all clothing and shoes sizes sizes and days available in their submission.
Email submissions can be sent to AugustExtras@gmail.com and hard copies to August Extras c/o Freihofer Casting, 3750 W Main St, Five Park A, Norman, OK 73072.
