People names 'Sexiest Man Alive' in surprising pick

People magazine has named Johnny Depp as this year's "Sexiest Man Alive."

It's the 46-year-old actor's second time being named "Sexiest Man Alive."

Depp also won in 2003.

Some say it might be surprising Depp was named this year because People’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ is usually a man who has spent the past year in the spotlight.

Depp has kept a pretty low profile in 2009 in comparison to past years.
 
Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Richard Gere have also made the list twice.
