NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — University of Oklahoma police shut down a portion of the Norman campus briefly after a suspicious package was discovered outside a building on the South Oval.
A section of the South Oval was shut down for about 45 minutes Tuesday night after the package was found outside the east entrance to Dale Hall.
OUPD Lt. Bruce Chan says police determined the item was not a threat. The area was reopened by 7 p.m.
Chan says a police officer patrolling the area found the unattended package on the ground and the area was evacuated.
