"We are here to support our U.S. Troops!"

The message was clear. Saturday afternoon the Epsilon Sigma Alpha International philanthropic organization teamed up with local schools and businesses to collect stuffed bears to send to U.S. troops overseas.

"Share The Bears" is part of the "Hope for Heroes" national campaign being put on by the organization to show appreciation to U.S. veterans and active military personnel. Citizens are encouraged to donate 10" or smaller stuffed bears to ship overseas immediately after Thanksgiving. Troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan will then distribute the bears to children in those countries.

"This is our way to let everyone at home and U.S. troops overseas know that we are here to support them," said Connie Bartlett, Share the Bears Chairman for the Tulsa Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha.

In addition to the "Share The Bears" campaign, the mayor of Broken Arrow has declared November 14th Military Appreciation Day.

Donations can still be made at these locations:

Lee's Feed and Supply at 11th and 193rd East Ave until the Saturday after Thanksgiving
Seasons Financial Group at the Farm Shopping Center at 51st and Sheridan until Thanksgiving.
