CLAREMORE, Okla. (AP) — A Rogers County judge has ordered a man to stand trial in the 2004 death of a Foyil teenager.
Charles Kirk, already serving a prison term for an unrelated crime, was bound over for trial Tuesday on a first-degree murder count in the death of Robert Sims.
Divers discovered Sims' body in a quarry in Oologah Lake in December after a witness tipped them to its whereabouts.
Kirk's co-defendant, Eric Brouse, also faces a first-degree murder charge.
At his preliminary hearing, Kirk's ex-girlfriend, Jenny Davis, testified that Kirk confided in her that he was involved in the killing.
Sheriff's Investigator Chris Bohl testified that he spoke with Davis about the crime, and later interviewed Kirk, who provided more details.
