LOCUST GROVE, Okla. (AP) — Authorities say a Locust Grove man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on a Mayes County road.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 77-year-old Curtis James Prescott died of massive injuries at the scene of the accident south of Locust Grove around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The patrol says Prescott was headed north on the road when his vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the road, crossed back over and overturned.
The patrol says Prescott was pinned in the vehicle nearly 20 minutes before being freed by Locust Grove firefighters.
Troopers say a passenger, Tommy Eugene Collins Jr., refused medical treatment at the scene for arm injuries.
The patrol says neither occupant wore a seat belt.
