If you are not sleeping well, you are not alone. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports 1 in 10 nationwide did not get a single good night's sleep last month.
The CDC surveyed more than 400,000 Americans. The survey revealed high rates of sleepnessness in Oklahoma, Kentucky and Tennessee. In West Virginia, the rate was 1 in 5 people - double the national average.
Working odd sifts and high rates of obesity might be reasons why many West Virginians are not sleeping well.
Experts aren't sure why certain areas of the country are more prone to sleep problems. They suspect higher rates of obesity and working various shifts in coal mines may have something to do with it.
