Americans, in growing numbers, are turning the other "cheek" when deciding on plastic surgery.
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reports buttock rejuvenation is becoming increasingly popular. People who have lost a great deal of weight recently choose the procedure most often.
In fact, buttock lifts are up a whopping 162-percent since the year 2000. Surgeons report performing 3,500 in 2008. In the same year, doctors gave 853 patients buttock implants.
The researchers say the nation's down economy has not greatly affected plastic surgery procedures.
The study was presented at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons meeting.
