2NEWS Problem Solver Michelle Lowry applied for the $1,000 Scripps Foundation Grant on behalf of the school-based Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma program at Marshall Elementary. Michelle is one of the volunteer "Bigs" in the BBBS of Oklahoma program. Along with Michelle's little "Sis", Jessica, "Bigs" and "Littles" enjoyed a pizza picnic and checked out the new games, toys and arts and crafts paid for through the grant.
Michelle is active as a volunteer in several not-for-profit organizations but especially loves being a mentor to Jessica. Michelle says "The hours I spend with Jessica just fly by. I often learn more from my fifth grade Little 'Sis' on a weekly basis than I do the whole rest of the week! We share a lot of laughs."
