Long range Forecast - August 28th

Last Update: 9/09/2007 11:15 am
The Climate Prediction Center’s 90 day outlook calls for our temperatures to be above normal and our rainfall to be near normal. Please keep in mind that this does not mean we will not have some cold weather and snow or ice, this forecast is just the average of all the weather for Sept., Oct., and Nov. When the kids head back to school, we all consider this fall, but we are still in summer. The Autumnal Equinox does not begin until Sept. 23rd. But the weather changes dramatically from the first of Sept. to the end. We often still have temperatures in the mid 90s in early to mid Sept. but have had years when highs were in the 50s by the end of the month. It’s hard for me to imagine snow will be possible within the next 90 days, but the fact is it’s likely. Last November we had more than 10” of snow in part of our area just after Thanksgiving. Now, back to your upcoming event, my daughter’s outdoor wedding went just fine. We had planned to move the whole thing indoors if needed and that made the bride and her mom happy knowing the day wouldn’t be ruined if the skies poured. Turns out it was beautiful and my hope is your daughter’s wedding day will be just as nice. Relax, enjoy the day, and take lots of pictures. Be ready for just about anything and make the best of that very special day. If you have a weather question, send it to: askdan@kjrh.com
