From David: Last week you mentioned that earthquakes were frequent in our area. How frequent are they and why don’t we hear more about them?

From Barry: Last night, for the third time in about a month, there was a wall of rain and storms across western Oklahoma, stretching from Kansas to Texas, marching toward us, that somehow dissipates at the County line or splits and goes around us, leaving us high and dry.  Is there some reason this happens with such regularity?   

From Thomas: Was there something tried in the 1800s to keep hail from falling? If so what was it and how did it work?

From Loren S.: When does Spring begin this year?

Ask Dan Column for Jan. 23, 2009 (Snow Ice Cream) From L.T.: Growing up, my mother would make ice cream out of snow. I remember my brothers and me eating it after long days of playing out in the cold. Do you know the recipe?

From Matt: I’ve always wondered why my ears pop when flying. Does that have something to do with the barometric pressure like you show on television?

From Mark: There have been some very cold temperatures in Canada the past few weeks. Do you expect any of that cold air to make it this far south any time soon?

From Chris: I partially remember learning in Boy Scouts many years ago a scale used to measure or estimate winds. What was the name for it and is it accurate?

From Thomas: I’ve always wonder why you guys say a north wind when the wind is actually moving to the south.
