DEANA SILK"It is great to be living and working in a state I am proud to call home."
Deana Silk is a true Oklahoma girl! Born and raised in Northwest Oklahoma, she calls Alva home and loves to go back and see friends and family as much as possible.
Deana joined the 2News Team as a general assignment reporter in January of 2005. She now anchors the 2News Weekend Morning show with Meteorologist George Flickinger.
"George and I have a lot of fun on the weekends... check us out Saturday's from 8-10am and Sundays 9-10am. George tries to stump me with his tough weather trivia questions... please help me out!"
Deana graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in journalism. She's a die hard Sooner fan and you're bound to see her at a football game or two.
Deana got her start at OU as a reporter/anchor for the campus news. While in college she worked as a production assistant at KOKH FOX 25 news in Oklahoma City. But it was an internship at KFOR in Oklahoma City that sealed the deal for Deana's future.
Before coming to Channel 2, she worked in Lawton, Oklahoma as a general assignment reporter.
"I will never forget the emotion you feel when you watch soldiers come home from war…reuniting with family for the first time."
Deana is now happy to call Tulsa home. Taking advantage of the many lakes in the area is favorite pastime of hers.
You may also catch Deana around town shopping or trying out different restaurants with her husband.
"I love to hear from my viewers, so if you have any restaurant or shopping suggestions don't hesitate to contact me!"
