Texas man arrested for assaulting nurses at father's Bartlesville rehabilitation facility

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - A Texas man is facing charges in Washington County after authorities say he assaulted nurses at his father's rehabilitation facility and destroyed $1,000 of medical equipment.

Alan Morrison was arrested July 19 in Bartlesville for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and destroying private property.

According to the affidavit, Morrison showed up at Adams Park Rehab, where his father was admitted earlier in the day, insisting his father's catheter be replaced after it was removed.

When the nurses said a doctor's order is required, Morrison allegedly became upset and grabbed one of the nurses by the hair.

Court documents allege Morrison then took out a foot-long wrench, which he brought with him to the facility, and started breaking medical equipment at the nurses' station.

Morrison then grabbed another nurse, holding the wrench across her throat and ordering her to replace his father's catheter before police arrived or he'd kill her, according to court documents.

When an officer arrived on scene, he encountered Morrison in the medication room.  Police say Morrison threw the wrench at the officer, who ordered Morrison to the ground and handcuffed him.
