BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Film crews already in Oklahoma have set up a production office for the filming of 'August: Osage County' in Bartlesville, a spokesperson for the movie confirmed with 2NEWS on Wednesday.

Asked to confirm information posted on the Oklahoma Film & Music Office 's website, which said preproduction for the movie began on July 23 and the shooting is scheduled to begin Sept. 24, the spokesperson told 2NEWS the information is correct.

"Yes, late in September, possibly later by a week or two," she said of the scheduled shooting date.

Bartlesville, she confirmed, will be used as the movie crew's base as it films at locations in and around Osage County.

According to the Oklahoma Film & Music Office website, "an official joint announcement of Oklahoma filming by The Weinstein Company and The Oklahoma Film & Music Office is forthcoming."

Scouts for the movie first appeared in Bartlesville in May of 2011, just months after Malick's crews finished up their filming for "To the Wonder," starring Rachel McAdams and Rachel Weisz.
