Bartlesville Regional United Way raises more than $2.2 million in 2013, names new director

The Bartlesville Regional United Way announced at its End of the Year Campaign Celebration that it exceeded its 2013 goal by nearly $500,000.

With a goal of $1.85 million, the agency raised a total of $2,266,284.

About 13.5 percent of the amount came through the 2013 United Way Golf Scramble, which brought in $250,000, a record for the fundraiser.

Additional funds came through the agency’s largest individual donation on record, its “Give to Live” campaign and other events throughout the year.

During the event, United Way also announced the hiring of its new CEO and executive director, Jody Burch.

Burch previously worked as a campaign manager for the agency for the past three years. He also served as interim director.

“He has done an excellent job for us, and we are looking forward to the future as he continues to lead the local United Way to even more service to the needy in the Bartlesville area,” Bartlesville Regional United Way Board President Donna Skelly said.

Bartlesville Regional United Way supports 14 agencies in Washington, Nowata and parts of Osage counties.
