Bartlesville Regional United Way raised 1.938 million in 2011, ranking No. 12 among similar agencies

BARTLESVILLE - Bartlesville Regional United Way recently announced the results of United Way's annual report for 2011.

The agency raised $1.938 million in 2011 to fund its more than 40 agencies across Washington and Nowata counties and parts of Osage County.

Those numbers rank Bartlesville No. 12 in the nation, compared to United Way agencies of similar size and outreach, which was announced Tuesday at BRUW's annual meeting. There 156 United Ways nationwide that rank in the same category as Bartlesville and raised just under $2 million for their 2011 campaigns.

"For the last few years, we have exceeded our goal," said BRUW CEO and Executive Director, Michael Cole.

For 2012, Cole says BRUW raised $1,960,735, 106 percent of its goal. National rankings have yet to be released for 2012.  

Funds brought in through BRUW donors and fundraisers helped nearly 75,000 people across the three counties. Among the programs to benefit from BRUW are Boys and Girls Club of Bartlesville, Richard Kane YMCA, Agape Mission, American Red Cross, Mary Martha Outreach and The Salvation Army
