BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - A Bartlesville man is in jail and a woman in the hospital after he allegedly shot her in the foot.
Police responding Tuesday night to a call reporting hollering and shots fired arrived to a residence on the 4000 block of Woodville Road.
They found Andrew Fesperman, 34, in the backyard and the woman on the porch with a gunshot wound to the foot.
Bartlesville Police Sgt. David Hackler told 2News the couple where arguing when Fesperman went into the yard and fired off several rounds from a handgun, one round aimed in her direction. This round struck her foot.
Hackler said police arrested Fesperman on charges of aggravated assault with a weapon, felony threat to kill, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, reckless use of a firearm while intoxicated and violation of a burn ban.
Explaining the latter charge, Hackler said firefighters arriving to the scene for the medical call found Fesperman had built a fire in the backyard. They promptly doused it.
The woman was transported to Jane Phillips Medical Center for treatment.
At Fesperman's appearance in Washington County District Court on Wednesday, a judge set his bond to $150,000 and ordered him back Thursday.
