Bartlesville police believe alcohol, excessive speed were factors in single-vehicle accident

BARTLESVILLE - Bartlesville police are investigating the cause of a single vehicle accident that sent two people to the hospital early Saturday morning.

According to police, a red Ford Taurus ran off the north side of Tuxedo Boulevard near the Caney River Bridge just after midnight.

The vehicle caused damage to a power line pole and rolled several times.

The driver and passenger were both transported by helicopter to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Cpt. Jay Hastings with the Bartlesville Police Department said.

Hastings said excessive speed and alcohol may have been the cause of the accident.

Hastings did not know the condition or identity of either victim.
