Bartlesville man's disappearance being investigated as homicide

PAWHUSKA, Okla. - Osage County officials are investigating the disappearance of a Bartlesville man as a homicide.

Sixty-two-year-old Timothy Hauser was last seen more than a month ago at the Osage Casino.

"This department is handling this as a homicide investigation," Osage County Chief Criminal Investigator Charlie Cartwright told 2NEWS on Wednesday, saying he thinks Hauser "suffered great bodily harm."

"It has been a missing person's case and a robbery case, but from the get-go it was investigated as a homicide because there were some extreme injuries that could have resulted in his death."

Asked if authorities had any suspects or persons of interest, he only answered "We have two people in jail on a charge relating to the incident."

The individuals he was referring to are Bartlesville residents Trysta Shaffer, 28, and Rusty Petty, 40, charged with conjoint robbery. They were seen with Hauser on Aug. 9, leaving Osage Casino just west of Bartlesville. That was the last time he was seen.

Cartwright told 2NEWS as the investigation is ongoing, any new information would be appreciated.

"We are looking for any information at this point as to his whereabouts."

Those bearing any information on the whereabouts of Hauser are asked to contact the Osage County Sheriff's office at 918-287-3131.
