Bartlesville man arrested on abuse, burglary charges

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - A Bartlesville man is behind bars after he allegedly forced his way into a woman's motel room and was caught allegedly trying to strangle her Thursday morning.

Twenty-four-year-old Alejandro Jose Gomez facing charges of domestic abuse by strangulation, burglary, trespassing and interfering with an emergency phone call on Thursday appeared in Washington County District Court Thursday where the judge set his bond at $100,000.

According to the report, police at around 4:15 a.m. were sent to the Skyline Motel due to reports of a woman screaming for help.

Arriving to the scene, officers noticed a window to one room was broken out and heard a female screaming "Someone please help me."

An officer then looking through the window saw a woman lying on the floor, her pants down, and Gomez on top of her with his arms around her neck in a choke hold.

Police then entering the room pointed a tazer at Gomez and ordered him off of the woman and to the ground where they restrained him in handcuffs.

According to the report, police found the room "in complete disarray" with its furniture broken, the bed moved off its frame, blood smeared on the room's walls and the phone line disconnected from the wall.

The woman, they saw, was bleeding from her hand.

She reportedly told police Gomez, whom she had been dating, at around 11 p.m. Wednesday followed her to her room from her work and forced his way into the room.

Police reported the woman said several times she thought Gomez was going to kill her.

Gomez is due back in court on Friday.
