Bartlesville-filmed Terrence Malick 'To the Wonder' movie to premier in Venice, then Toronto

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Locally filmed Terrence Malick movie "To the Wonder" will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival set to begin in late August.

The movie — a "romantic drama centered on a man who reconnects with a woman from his hometown after his marriage to a European woman falls apart,"according to The Internet Movie Database — saw much of its filming in Bartlesville in 2010.

Starring Ben Affleck, Olga Kurylenko, Rachel McAdams, Javier Bardem, the movie is listed on the festival's website as one of 17 movies to be included in "Venezia 69" international competition of feature films presented as world premieres. One more movie is yet to be announced.

The film will have its North American premiere during the Toronto International Film Festival in September, according to the TIFF website .

The 112-minute long R-rated movie is only said to be released sometime this year.

Bartlesville Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director Maria Swindell Gus who worked closely with the film crews as they were in Bartlesville told 2NEWS while there had been talk of a Bartlesville premiere, no decisions or promises have been made.
