Joe Henke joined the 2NEWS team as a multimedia journalist in June 2013.
Before moving to Tulsa, Joe reported for KERO, the Scripps-owned station in Bakersfield, Calif.
Joe completed his undergraduate degree at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. While completing his degree at St. Thomas, Joe was the school mascot, Tommie the Tomcat, and he also interned at KARE, the NBC affiliate in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Joe later completed his master's degree at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. At that same time Joe reported from Washington D.C., covering agriculture, business and health.
Born in Duluth, Minn. and raised all over the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Joe is a huge fan of the Twins, Vikings and Timberwolves.
For Joe, career highlights include traveling to Puerto Rico to cover the island's political status vote in 2012, reporting from the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa Bay, Fla. and interviewing Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson after he set the single-game rushing record in 2007.
In his spare time, Joe enjoys playing basketball and golf, reading the newspaper with a cup of coffee, trying out local eateries and attending concerts.
