TULSA - Brittany joined the 2News Weather Team in October of 2012. She is very excited to be in Oklahoma and have the opportunity to cover more severe storms.
She was recently awarded the American Meteorological Society's Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation.
Her love of weather started when she was in elementary school. She would wake up an hour early before school just to watch the news and especially the weather broadcast. Growing up in Florida she was fascinated by the strong afternoon storms brought on by the sea breeze. During hurricanes she was glued to the television, watching the meteorologists track the storm's path and its development.
Ever since then she has worked to become a meteorologist. She attended Florida State University and earned her Bachelor's of Science in Meteorology and a minor in mathematics.
After graduation she headed way out west to Missoula, Montana for her first job. Working as the weekend meteorologist. There she gained experience in forecasting and surviving blizzards, wind chills to 40 below, and copious amounts of snow.
Next she landed in Hastings, Nebraska. She started as the weekend meteorologist then moved into the weekday evening position. Once again she forecasted blizzards as well as record heat. And covered numerous severe storms.
From there she moved to Huntington, West Virginia as the weekend meteorologist. She covered weather for the entire state. Putting together separate forecasts for four different regions each weekend.
When she is not at the station forecasting weather, you can find Brittany out bike riding with her little dog. A sassy italian greyhoud/manchester terrier mix. She also loves to do yoga, bake, watch movies, garden, and go shopping.
